CLARE Foundation Celebrates Founding of AA
By Hosting a Candlelight Vigil (Friday, June 10)
All Welcome To Share Experience On Commemoration Board
LOS ANGELES, CA (JUNE 6, 2016) … In Observance of the anniversary of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), CLARE foundation will hold a candlelight vigil to remember those that lost their lives to addiction before AA was formed to help combat alcoholism. All are welcome to come light a candle at 8:00 PM on Friday, June 10th, at 1002 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA.
June 10th marks the anniversary of the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous, in 1935, by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio. The program encourages members to share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
“AA has touched the lives of millions of people and continue to benefit people globally in their collective fight against this disease,” said Executive Director Dr. Lisa Steele. “It has been around for so long people take it for granted, but June 10th is a monumental day that we commemorate. At CLARE, we feel AA is an important part of not just our treatment, but ongoing sustaining recovery.”
CLARE will provide a platform for the community to share stories of loved ones and honor the lives lost to addiction. All are welcome to add photos and written memories to CLARE’s Commemoration Board of Remembrance during the candlelight vigil on Friday, June 10th, at 1002 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA.
Members of the media are welcome to attend. To schedule an interview, please contact CLARE Foundation’s PR and Marketing Associate Grace Lee at 310-314-6200 x3147 or email@example.com. For information about news and upcoming events, please visit www.CLAREfoundation.org.
